I'm a kiwi (from New Zealand) and I have developed an interest in decoding, lock picking and locksport.
The youtuber Potti314 inspired me to take up this lock picking hobby, because his videos are nice & clear, and he's very genuine (ie if he has trouble with something, he admits it in his videos and doesn't only show the good bits). His enthusiasm is contagious.

Can you please help me I have a Halfords number design is 225270 please help me😅
Second bike lock video that I watched and attempted to replicate...and I succeeded within two minutes of the video ending. My particular lock only ranged from numbers 1 to 6 with 4 slots but the method was exactly as you demonstrated. You gave right proper instruction, jolly good mate!
Oh that's fantastic that the same method worked on your particular lock. I think your one is not so common. Thank you for the feedback!
Ima try this because i need my lock to be usable for school
nice - let's know how you get on. Good luck!
Worked beautifully!
Fantastic! Thanks for letting me know. Have a great day!
Thankyou- actually managed to find out my code on my old gym locker with this method- your a saint
Excellent! So glad the video was helpful - cheers!
Thank you! This helped me get a very old lock off the frame of my bike
Excellent! Old locks can be tricky, and sometimes you have to pull very hard. Hope your fingers are ok!
Unlocked in less than 5 minutes. Thanks mate. I have a similar lock and forgot the code after using it for several months. Checked your video as the thumbnail looked similar and this method worked. The right hand method is a worthy trick.
Fantastic! - as this method only works on some bike locks. Well done for getting it open!
Thank you my friend! This method has worked very well. I was able to recover my passcode.
Fantastic! Well done on decoding it. Have a great day!
Saved my bacon! Thanks!!!
Excellent! Thank you for the feedback and have a great day!
wrong, should understand the inside construction of the lock before lock picking
Thank you for your feedback. I have picked a bunch of these sorts of lock (also different brands) as can be seem by my other videos. I have opened up a bunch to understand the inner workings.
Managed to save a luggage lock I thought I’d have to throw away. Thanks for making this video!
Brilliant! Well done for looking up youtube videos and saving your lock. Cheers!
The triple 0 5 tip saved me
LOL yea I didn't know that these locks come from the shop as 0-0-0-5 by default (so I had to decode it). Cheers!
4 digit Zéfal lock that looks as usual bike lock with plastic wraped wire
My bike got locked and I don t know the code. I have been trying out different methodes but it didn't work. Maybe I was doing something wrong or it doesn't work with those methodes I have tried with
You might like to try the "Indirect" method in my video 144: ua-cam.com/video/Rn_Q3zWQhCY/v-deo.html With the indirect method you have to pull hard with constant tension. It doesn't look like it in the video but I'm actually pulling constantly quiet hard. The harder you pull the more you'll be able to feel it. Some locks you don't have to pull that hard to get the feedback, whereas other locks you have to pull very hard indeed. It requires strength and also strong fingers to turn the wheels will pulling hard. Wearing gloves is a must with some locks to stop blisters. Good luck!
Can you decode zéfal bike lock?
I've ordered one, but it'll take a week or so to get to me.
@@SwynndlaOk thank you
@@maksperme1653 The online order said 10 to 14 days, so we'll see
Good
seems it doesnt work for mine and the locker is the same. idk what am i making wrong
With the indirect method you have to pull hard with constant tension. It doesn't look like it in the video but I'm actually pulling constantly very hard (and you can hear me puffing in the video). The harder you pull the more you'll be able to feel it. It requires strength and also strong fingers to turn the wheels will pulling hard. Wearing gloves is a must to stop blisters. Good luck!
Using your video has just helped me to crack the code on my padlock. Many thanks 👊🏾
Excellent! Well done for decoding your combination code 😄Thanks for the feedback.
4 other videos and sore fingers later I found this one. it worked and I had the lock opened halfway thru the video....now to figure out how to change the code!!
Excellent! Well done for getting it open. Yea I have lots of comments like that, where people try lots of other videos but this is the only one that worked. To change your combination code, once open, you have to turn the end dial thingy. It usually has an arrow on it showing you which way to turn it. It's difficult to turn sometimes, and you have to turn it all the way until it stops turning. Some locks show you when you've turned far enough as you'll be able to see a red square appear (but not all locks do that). Sometimes it doesn't move all the way until I slightly wiggle the wheels (the wheels with numbers on them). Once it's turned, set it to a new combination code and then turn the change-dial back and that's it (so then close it and scramble the wheels as usual). I would recommend you change only one dial to one number different, just to see if it works, and if it does then do it properly.
Helped me open a lock that I couldn't remember the code to. Worked very quickly. Thanks much!
Excellent! Well done for getting it open. Have a great day!
Mate you just saved me $35! Using this lock on a shared shed for sports teams and someone changed the combo by accident. Cheers you're a lifesaver!
Excellent! So glad the video was helpful. Thank you for the nice feedback!
Tried the bobby pin method, dam its harder than you make it look 😄 i spent 15 minutes with it and couldn't get it open that way, however the tension+feel method worked just fine! I'd mention that i went with the most tense wheel to least rather than chronological order from the bottom up.
Thank you for letting me and sharing what worked. Yea the bobby pin method only works on some locks. And yes you're right, the method you used going from most tense wheel to least is the proper way of doing it. On a lot of locks it's in order (like in the video) but not all, so well done on figuring out a more advanced method yourself. You must have a knack for that sort of thing!
Took me a while but I finally got it. Thanks!
Excellent! Well done for figuring it out. Cheers!
Worked for me 🎉
Fantastic! Thanks for letting me know. Have a great day!
THANK YOU SO MICH I NEEDED THAT
LOL that's so great to hear 😄Well done and have a great day!
My lock is stuck at 90 degrees. HELP!
Oh! ... so if the shackle is stuck and 90 degrees, it sounds like it's in the "change" position. You want to pull it up so you can turn it back. While pulling up, you may want to adjust the wheels a bit and see if that helps.
It took me 5mins to unlock my bike lock thanks 🎉😂
That's fantastic! Well done. And now you have to new skill too 😄
Getting the first letter seemed to work but the last letter, every one of the gates was pretty easy to wiggle even though I was pulling up super hard
Hmmm for the 3rd letter, instead of seeing which position is easiest to wiggle, try to see which has the most wiggle distance (left to right) as the correct one may have slightly more. Good luck!
Haha, thank you so much. What an awesome thing to learn. I opened my lock with success 😎
Fantastic! Well done for getting it open. Thank you for letting us know. 😄
I was able to open a code lock in 30 minutes. Some learning first but the lock got open. It went a bit different than in these videos.
Fantastic work - well done for figuring it out! What did you have to do differently?
I had to apply tension to pull the parts away from each other (just like in the video) but there were no evident signs of correct combinations first. First tried brute force method for 2000 combinations, still keeping tension, but then suddenly I noticed that the rightmost wheel didn't turn freely anymore. First thought lock got broken but then same happened to the third wheel from the left. I could feel how something changed. After that also the remaining two wheels from the left got into correct positions and the lock opened.
@@marko5472 Thank you for sharing what you found - have a great day!
This method is a lifesaver. Thank you ❤. It is the easiest method for people with larger fingers😂😂. When I turn one dial the neighbouring dials might turn as well. This way you make the one on the right fixed and ones on the left can turn while sensing how tight they become.
Oh that brilliant! - thank you for pointing that out. Well done for getting it open!
What if my lock as fake clicks ?!?! I need help
Fake clicks are much harder to deal with. I've done a couple of videos on a lock that has fake clicks: ua-cam.com/video/Y5sYxN_visk/v-deo.html and: ua-cam.com/video/kdq-Bd3ve8Y/v-deo.html
I got a bike lock i don’t know what brand it iss but I really need help and I don’t know the code
Good job. But after all if any method doesn't work for you heavy duty wire cutters will for sure =)
Thank you! Oh yea for sure, even cutting the main body can work as it's thinner than the shackle (which is also hardened). Cheers!
Dude thanks a lot. I was gonna throw away my lock. You r amazing thanks again 🎉
Nice! You not only have a working lock, but you also have a new skill 😄Thank you for the nice feedback.
THANK YOU so much, there were many videos in the Internet but your technique has finally helped me to open my 10 years old lock. Cheers!
Brilliant! Thanks for letting us know. Have a great day!
thank you i opened mine

@@Swynndla I mean, this made my day man...haha...I was ready to Amazon a few of these before a trip this week. Bear of it was I had it right (the combo), but upside down HAHA
@@karstgeo7290 LOL - nice 😄😆
I've used that approach on several different models and it worked on all but one. That one really frustrated me.
Nice one! I was surprised that the binding order was to the left instead of the right like it usually is. Cheers!
Well done, very quick! Interesting binding order 🤔 Any false gates?
Thank you! Yea I was surprised the binder order was "backwards". No false gates. Only one click per wheel. Cheers!
Wow that’s quite a poor lock, nice fast decoding.
Cheers! The lock seems really good otherwise - nice and thick. I discovered this trick by accident. It only works if I start from the left hand side, not the right. I bought it from amazon UK 😉
Nice man, you helped me with my bike lock with one of your other vids
oh that's fantastic - cheers and have a great day!
